Press coverage of Mohawk Girls hits the stands

With the television premiere around the corner, press coverage of APTN’s new dramedy Mohawk Girls is hot off the press. Quebec’s Chatelaine released their November issue with a two-page spread on the much-anticipated show.

The Chatelaine article, written by Melissa Guillemette, with photos by Maude Chauvin, perfectly sums up the upbeat vibe of the new series and the issues that will be explored.

Created by Tracey Deer, the storylines are inspired by her experiences growing up on the Mohawk reserve of Kahnawake. “It examines all the hilarious complexity of being a modern Aboriginal woman caught between two worlds,” Tracey explains.

Mohawk Princess Picture’s own Brittany LeBorgne, one of the stars of the show, is quoted twice in the piece. “I’m really excited because it’s such a big deal to be in a magazine like Chatelaine. And to be in the Quebec version, I’m happy it’ll reach our Quebec neighbors so they can tune in. We hope the show will build bridges between our two communities.”

This issue of Chatelaine is on stands now! Pick up your copy at your local pharmacy, grocery store or corner store.
